The Evening Breeze Kisses the Wild Gardenia

[Campus + urban life + mutual healing + sweet romance + ensemble cast + two strong leads] Cheerful, adorable, seemingly well-behaved girl ✖️ Defiant, seemingly notorious school bully * The world had gone mad! Her mother remarried, and her father married again. Could anything be harder to accept? No, there couldn’t, or so sixteen-year-old Wen Zhiyu thought. She was done being a good girl. She was done playing the part of the obedient daughter. She thought people had to be a little crazy sometimes. Otherwise, how would they know whether it was raining outside? * So she did something daring. * Wen Zhiyu met Shen Jin when she was sixteen. Calling it a meeting would be putting it generously. She “bumped into” him. That year, she transferred to the city where her mother had remarried and accidentally knocked him over at the train station. Then she discovered he knew her mother’s stepdaughter. To get back at her, Wen Zhiyu decided to get close to him. * But things didn’t go the way she expected. By a strange twist of fate, Wen Zhiyu, who had been in the liberal arts track, ended up in the science track. A physics competition was coming up, and Shen Jin insisted she enter with him. “I want you to see me win the championship.” She, too, once held his hand tight and made a promise. “Shen Jin, let’s get into the same university.” “Okay.” * That year, the snow in Hong Kong City came a little earlier than the snow in South City. The pain in her knees seemed to wash away all the hurt she had carried over the years. She thought they would never meet again. But Shen Jin came anyway. “Shen Jin, take me away.” “Shen Jin, let’s not let fate find us.”
