Siheyuan: An Acre of Land from the Start, Starve the Beasts

Chen Weidong opens his eyes and finds himself transmigrated into the most inconspicuous unemployed young man in Courtyard No. 95. The good news: both his parents are alive, his family owns a home, and he has a beautiful girl he was betrothed to as a child. The bad news: the courtyard is full of familiar faces. Yi Zhonghai is always preaching morality, Jia Zhangshi is always asking for things, and Yan Bugui would gladly fire his abacus beads into someone's face. The better news: he has bound himself to a homestead dimension where he can grow grain, raise fish, and keep chickens and ducks, with all the yields doubled. A famine is coming? While everyone else queues for cornmeal, his family shuts the door and eats white rice. The Jia family comes begging with bowls in hand? Chen Weidong smiles. “If you're in trouble, go to Uncle Yi. He's so enlightened.” Silly Zhu tries to stand up for Qin Huairu? Chen Weidong grabs a fish in one hand and a person in the other. He won't play the saint or change anyone's fate. He'll just guard his little courtyard, keep his wife fair, fatten up his little sister, and make his life the envy of the whole compound. He just never expected the first time his space upgraded, it would display this message: [Excessive resentment detected in the courtyard. Activate beast-recycling mode?]
