All seventeen underground casinos in Harbor City have an unwritten rule: never provoke the Underground Emperor Shen Jin's foolish wife.
In the first year, a gambler broke the rule and touched Wen Suisui. His hands were chopped off on the spot and fed to the dogs.
In the second year, a henchman said Wen Suisui was nothing but a big-busted airhead. His tongue was pulled half a meter out of his mouth and cut off.
In the third year, someone merely gave her a malicious look. His eyes were immediately gouged out and ground into the dirt.
The name Wen Suisui became a prohibition.
Everyone knew she was the Underground Emperor's lifeline. Anyone who provoked her would die a horrible death.
Until one day, a woman barged into the casino and slapped Wen Suisui hard across the face.
"You stupid bitch, why don't you just die already!"
The air around them fell silent at once. The henchmen wondered to themselves how this woman would die.
But Shen Jin merely raised his eyes and calmly told someone to escort her out.
While everyone stood there stunned, the woman opened her mouth and cursed:
"Shen Jin, you're turning down my confession for a fool like her? Do you really want to spend your whole life with an idiot?"
Those two words were Shen Jin's sore spot.
The fearsome Underground Emperor of today had once been nothing more than a street thug.
He couldn't afford to eat and lived under a bridge. The only one by his side was the little beggar Wen Suisui.
He lowered his eyes slowly, his voice calm. "The day I fought to become the Underground Emperor, my enemies came after me. Suisui took a blow from an iron rod in my place. Otherwise, she wouldn't have ended up like this."
"I owe her. I'll spend the rest of my life repaying her."
