Home to Farm: From the Start, I Picked Up a Giant Panda

Working like an ox from dawn to dusk, with no rest in sight. And when at last you have time to rest, you might as well sleep beneath the mountains. What are we really living for? After serving in the military and carrying a rifle, Chu Feng spent years struggling to make a living in a big city after his discharge. The endless overtime and cutthroat competition, the crowded and restless city life, wore away all his drive. Exhausted in body and mind, he quit without hesitation and returned to his old house deep in the bamboo-covered mountains. Far from concrete and steel, far from the complications of human relationships, all he wanted was to chop wood, work the fields, and live a quiet life in his little courtyard. On one trip into the mountains, he unexpectedly rescued an injured panda cub that had been separated from its family. A courtyard, a yellow dog, and a cuddly national treasure, with the mountain breeze for company. He casually started livestreaming his laid-back days of farming, patrolling the mountains, and tending to his little home. His refreshing, healing life in the mountains quietly went viral across the internet. Linghua, a gentle mountain ranger, stayed by his side. The days were peaceful, and life was simple. The mountains seemed tranquil, but deep in the dense forest, unseen eyes watched and undercurrents swirled. The soldier's spirit in him had never faded. He left behind the clamor of the city to farm in seclusion among the mountains, protecting the green mountains and a national treasure as he settled into a quiet life for the years ahead.
