Immortal in the Mortal World: Abandoning Immortality to Guard the Hearth

A Chen, an abandoned child from a muddy backwater, steps onto the path of immortality and enters the mortal world, enduring every parting and death, and all the cruelty life has to offer.

The immortal sects are cold, the demonic path is brutal, and desire ensnares every living being, yet he never loses sight of his original purpose.

With an innocent heart, he stands against the world’s greatest evil, trading half a lifetime of suffering for peace among humankind.

When the chaos finally ends, and his mission is complete, he retires from the world.

He lays down his power that reached the heavens and abandons the immortal path of countless ages,

returning to the mountains as an ordinary man, farming for a living, keeping the warmth of home alive, and spending the rest of his days in quiet contentment.

He cultivates his heart amid the dust, and finds the immortal within the ordinary.

The finest Dao in this world has never been in the heavens above, but among humankind.
