The Rebellious Workhorse Foodie Heroine Turns the Tables and Becomes a CEO

Being an overworked wage slave isn't scary. What's scary is getting bound to a so-called Supreme Strong Female System that does nothing but make empty promises.

I listened to it and worked hard for a year. I went from earning 3,000 yuan a month to being “promoted” into an all-purpose pauper with eight jobs, 100,000 yuan in debt, and no choice but to wait for hotpot to go on sale.

Just when I was desperate enough to take the System down with me, I discovered its earth-shattering bug:

[System: Wage slaves need a wage-slave spirit! Host, keep a low profile and endure hardship so you can get a permanent position soon.]

I quit on the spot and opened a private restaurant. We brought in over 10,000 yuan on the very first day.

[System: To maintain your figure, Host should start dieting immediately and follow a Michelin-level weight-loss meal plan.]

I turned around and polished off three bowls of braised pork. The next day, an investor showed up with three million yuan for me.

[System: A commercial rival has been detected. Host should keep your distance and repay resentment with kindness.]

I marched straight to his company, took over the restaurant he was bidding on, and even poached his head chef.

The System was so furious its CPU caught fire, and it punished me.

But who could have guessed that every punishment would miss its mark and land squarely on my hapless best friend instead?

I had barely signed the contract when I heard my friend wailing over the phone: “Xiaotang! I just got chased down the street by a goose for eight blocks again! Why am I always the one getting hurt?!”

I glanced at the aloof culinary genius beside me, who was peeling shrimp for me, and quietly hung up.
