The Backrooms: Xiao Sao’s Journey Through Time and Space

Xinran was an ordinary underage Partygoer.

One day, after finishing her homework, she was so bored that she started acting out a “battle against creatures from the Void” in her room, then ran headfirst into the wall.

She winced in pain.

When she opened her eyes, clutching her forehead

Huh?

Where was she?

And so began a little Partygoer’s life of hopping through time and space.

But traveling between worlds came with a catch: she had to complete missions to get back.

Still, it wasn’t much of a hassle overall.

Her parallel-world self is a crybaby? Just passing through.

She’s possessed some unlucky soul on a timeline? Sorry, you can zone out for a bit.

The sunlight in the front hall is lovely and warm, though when she gets back, she has to help someone pick up leaves. Yes, pick up leaves. That’s how much the mission is worth.

Along the way, she’s also picked up a bunch of strange friends.

“Why are you following me?”

“Because you seem like the least normal one.”

“...Fair enough.”

The adventure goes on, with troubles cropping up constantly, but plenty of loud laughter, too.

After all, she’s only eleven.

The sky’s falling? Run first, ask questions later.

Can’t get away? Then, (pulls out her time-space powers)(not sure what to do)(but she has to look confident)

Meanwhile, Teacher Zek has been puzzled lately.

Is Xinran... a little too quiet?

She’s quiet sometimes, sure, but never this quiet.

She’ll stay in her room for half a day, then come out smiling. When he asks, she just says, “I’m fine, Brother Zek.”

Zek: ...Something feels off, but I can’t put my finger on it.

Xinran (heart pounding): I’m fine, I’m fine. I just went for a little wander in another time and space. It was only a few minutes.
