Synopsis

[Dual protagonists] [No System] [Two main storylines]

(Just to be clear, this story is set in the Backrooms, but I won’t make too many changes to the original setting. I’ll stick to it closely. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thanks so much. Oh, and ignore the tags I deleted. I picked them at random back in fifth grade because I didn’t know any better. Also, there’s no System; I’ve already corrected that.)

(Here’s a rough summary.)

Ling was originally just a traveler.

But a friend’s decision made Ling stay for a while.

The flames of the Partygoers’ War spread.

Some stayed, some left, and some never came back.

Should Ling remain indifferent, or get involved in the war?

Even knowing this battle is doomed to fail...

There is always darkness beneath the light.

In the shadows, eyes open.

The game was laid out long ago, waiting for its first move.

How can this game be broken?

Someone who made a promise failed to keep it.

What should be done?

(Note: This book has undergone three major revisions. The third was practically a complete rewrite, so if you read an earlier version, I recommend starting over. Some plotlines have been completely changed, and some characters have been replaced entirely, so you’ll be confused otherwise. The main storyline is much clearer now.)

Any Novels About the Backrooms?

The Backrooms is a horror setting similar to SCP and Cthulhu, structured into Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and so on. Friendly reminder: if the title doesn't mention the Backrooms, it's probably an auto-generated recommendation.
