Who Touched My Strings?

[Republican-era romance + class divide + tragic separation] A proud, roguish young master × a cool, reserved pipa player. Their deep love began in a time of chaos, but ended in a lifetime of heartbreak.

Chen Huaixi played the pipa in a teahouse to make ends meet. There she met Jiang Zhuyun, the young master of the Jiang family, who had just returned from overseas. Drawn to her cool demeanor and talent, he gradually pursued her, his teasing turning into genuine affection. But their families were worlds apart. The Jiang family fiercely opposed them, and various forces made things difficult, leaving their relationship at every turn.

War erupted and the country fell into turmoil. Jiang Zhuyun gave up his studies to join the army and head to the front. He promised to return, but ultimately died on the battlefield and never came home. Chen Huaixi wandered through the chaos until Xu Zhiyi, a gentle doctor, took her under his wing and gave her a measure of peace.

Through the long years, she buried her youthful love deep in her heart and spent the rest of her life with Xu Zhiyi. The pipa played, but the young man never returned. That deep love swallowed by war became a dream from the past she could never let go of.
