Republic of China: The Young Marshal of Longyou Sustains 100,000 Soldiers With a Well

Lu Jingyun was the second son of a warlord in Gansu. Though he had never been taken seriously, he made his name using modern meteorological knowledge.

He predicted a drought that came once in a century and persuaded his father to stockpile grain and supplies in advance. He also used a simple wind gauge and hygrometer to locate underground water veins and dig wells with pinpoint accuracy.

When drought sparked rebellions across the territories of neighboring warlords, his father's domain remained rock solid, and Lu Jingyun used the opportunity to take control of the military.

He later established an intelligence network, focusing on monitoring the Yellow River's water levels and the grain reserves of nearby warlords. After learning in advance that the Shaanxi warlord was running short on food, he used grain as leverage and forced his rival to cede three counties.

On the path to becoming a warlord in a time of chaos, Lu Jingyun proceeded with care at every step: training elite troops, seizing strategic ground, building powerful weapons, and killing the Japanese invaders!
