Great Qin: I Just Want to Slack Off, but Qin Shi Huang Insists On...

Ying Qi transmigrates and becomes the least noticeable of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s sons. His goal is crystal clear: be a lazy couch potato who eats his fill and waits to die. To achieve his dream as soon as possible, he fakes illness to skip class, hands in blank exams, and dodges everyone he sees, perfectly playing the role of Great Qin’s number-one good-for-nothing. But he has no idea that from the moment he started grumbling to himself, his life was already spinning out of control. He complains about the commandery system, and Qin Shi Huang convenes an emergency court meeting that same night to introduce reforms. He exposes Xu Fu as a fraud, and the next day Xu Fu is dragged away to be executed. All he wants is to quietly slack off, but his inner thoughts have become a “live broadcast” that is changing Great Qin. Finally, one day, Qin Shi Huang makes a decision that shocks the world: “I hereby pass the throne to you.” Ying Qi stares at the imperial edict of succession and completely breaks down. “??? I don’t want to be emperor!” But Qin Shi Huang smiles with satisfaction. “That’s precisely why you’re the best person for the job.” And so, the first emperor in Great Qin’s history to be “forced to clock in” begins his journey of governing while slacking off. Memorials must have a title and summary, or he won’t read them. He invents papermaking because bamboo slips are too heavy and he can’t be bothered to carry them. He changes the court audience from the Mao hour to the Chen hour for one reason only: “I can’t get up.” The officials look at this “good-for-nothing” emperor and fall into deep thought. “This emperor... actually seems pretty reliable?”
