The play tells the story of He Yuzhu, a chef in the canteen of a steel factory, known as "Silly Zhu". Qin Huairu, a steel mill worker, lived in the same hospital and had a son and two daughters. However, her husband died of a work-related injury and her life was difficult. There are also three respected old workers living in the courtyard, known as the "three uncles". Once neighborhood disputes occur in the courtyard, the three uncles will coordinate and resolve them. Silly Zhu seems to be indifferent, but he is kind-hearted. He gradually matures in getting along with his neighbors and has the responsibility and responsibility of a man. Under the spring breeze of reform and opening up, Shazhu opened a restaurant and transformed the courtyard into a nursing home, living happily and harmoniously with all the "neighborhood families".
