The Great Yu's Greatest Coroner

In the third year of the Tianshou era, the Great Yu Dynasty is on the brink of collapse. Shen Yi, a modern chief forensic examiner, transmigrates by chance into the body of a frequently bullied concubine-born son of the Duke of Dingguo’s household. The original owner was poisoned by his stepmother, and his page, A Fu, was brutally silenced while trying to protect him. What appears to be an ordinary murder within the household turns out to be part of a shocking conspiracy involving Northern barbarian spies infiltrating the Court of Judicial Review. With his superb autopsy skills and cool reasoning, Shen Yi exposes the steward’s crimes in court, only to find himself caught in an even deeper whirlpool. He discovers a note hidden by A Fu before his death, one that points to a secret alliance between members of the imperial clan and the Northern barbarians. To uncover the truth, he volunteers to join the Court of Judicial Review, where he uses his forensic expertise to investigate one bizarre case after another: a headless female corpse, a murder in a locked room, a string of poisonings… Each case is like a web, pulling him toward the center of power. At court, powerful clans vie for influence as the imperial family and noble houses battle in the open and in secret. Beyond the court, Northern barbarian spies lurk in the shadows, waiting for their chance to strike. Using the dead as his blade and the law as his shield, Shen Yi navigates the treacherous political landscape, gradually uncovering the dark side of the Great Yu Dynasty. From a lowly concubine-born son to a figure who holds power over the entire court, Shen Yi must not only avenge the original owner but also rebuild the backbone of this decaying dynasty. When the truth finally comes to light, he discovers that he has long been a pawn coveted by every faction. And the real game has only just begun.
