Jiang Shu's first scenario is “Going Home.”
The note on the door reads: [After entering, make sure the person sitting in the living room is your mother. If she isn't, keep smiling and ask her what she's having for dinner tonight.]
Jiang Shu opens the door and sees a middle-aged woman on the sofa. Her neck is three meters long, and her face hangs to the floor like a torn rag.
Their eyes meet.
Jiang Shu freezes for two seconds. Then his eyes turn red, and he rushes over to hug the twisted head, crying out, “Mom! Stop pretending, I'm home. The last time we saw each other was four hundred years ago, when you shoved a bowl of Meng Po soup into my hands by the Bridge of Helplessness.”
