Overworked office drone Su Nian dies suddenly from working overtime and wakes up in the 1970s, as a pushover exploited by her whole family.

Her own mother wants to give her factory job slot to her younger brother, then sell her to a local hoodlum for bride-price money?

Su Nian slaps back. “Get lost! I’m done putting up with this!”

Then she turns around and knocks on the door of Lu Cheng’an, the coldest technician in the entire factory.

“I heard you’re looking for someone to marry and help raise your child? Thirty yuan a month, room and board included, with plenty of ration coupons?”

“I’m Su Nian. I can do every household chore, I’m great with kids, and I can even help you manage your relationships. I’m the perfect candidate. Shall we sign a contract?”

Lu Cheng’an looks at the young woman who seems to have come over to sell herself, his stern face full of confusion.

Su Nian’s little plans are already racing through her mind: earn a salary, live in a new house, and prepare for the college entrance exam. This “job” is a steal!

But later, when the man holds her in his arms, his eyes filled with an affection that won’t fade, Su Nian panics.

“Section Chief Lu, the contract has expired. It’s time to file for divorce.”

Instead, the man pulls out another contract, which clearly states: Party A owns Party B for life.

Su Nian: ??? You said we’d honor the contract! This is an unfair clause!
