A Frontier Militiaman in the Late Ming

With border beacons flaring across the late Ming Dynasty, low-ranking officer Chen Shoubian only wants to survive on the frontier. He seeks neither promotion nor nobility. He just wants to guard his own watchtower, tend his military farmland, and use his golden finger to foresee danger, earn reliable military merit, and trade it for silver and land. He only wants to remain a low-ranking officer, at most rising to the rank of a hundred-household commander, and live in peace amid the chaos of the frontier.
