I Really Thought This Was an Immersive Murder Mystery Game

Lin Yan, a veteran murder-mystery game player, is accidentally drawn into a real-life international espionage showdown where death is on the line.

But he suffers from a rare “hyper-immersive defense mechanism”: in his absolute certainty, everything before him is just an S-rank live-action murder mystery with a colossal budget!

Confronted by a top professional hitman, his bloodlust raging, Lin Yan claps appreciatively. “This NPC's acting is incredible! Even the prop gun smells like gunpowder. Five stars!” Then he flips the assassin over his shoulder and knocks him out.

Faced with a miniature nuclear bomb with three seconds left on the countdown, Lin Yan frowns in disdain. “Puzzle games these days are seriously hardcore. Good thing I got a bomb-disposal certificate just for the game.” With a single swing of his entrenching tool, he physically severs the detonator wire, leaving agents from around the world watching the surveillance feeds on the verge of a heart attack.

At last, Lin Yan clears the “final dungeon” and storms the headquarters of the world's most notorious terrorist organization all by himself.

As the final boss prepares to deliver a speech about destroying the world, Lin Yan yawns impatiently.

“DM, that red light on your doomsday bomb looks so cheap. The story's padded out like crazy. One-star review. Hurry up and wrap this up, I want to go home and eat.”

The terrorist organization's leader can't withstand this cross-channel mental humiliation. He vomits blood and goes insane on the spot!

Meanwhile, on the other side of reality, bigwigs from the world's highest authorities frantically wipe away their cold sweat and issue an urgent top-priority order:

“Get a banner ready! Put the UN Peace Medal in a plastic trophy and deliver it to him!”

“All humanity has to play along. Under no circumstances can we let this living ancestor find out this isn't a game!!!”
