The Pill and the Sword Ask About Love

In the Xuantian Cultivation World, where hierarchy is rigid and the weak are prey to the strong, Lin Chen is an outer-sect alchemy apprentice of the Azure Cloud Sect. One day, he accidentally knocks over a batch of Concentration Pills meant for the sect's inner-court prodigies, leaving him facing the dire prospect of having his cultivation crippled and being expelled. Desperate for a chance to survive, he is forced to accept the sect's dreaded “death order,” a mission no one else dares take: enter the sect's forbidden ground, Burial Sword Valley, and retrieve the remains of an ancient Sword Venerable. At the edge of death in Burial Sword Valley, Lin Chen's blood accidentally drips onto what appears to be an ordinary fragment of a broken sword, awakening a wisp of its dormant soul: a mysterious man who calls himself Ling Jue. Ling Jue saves Lin Chen and reveals astonishing insights into both alchemy and the sword path. To repay Lin Chen for saving his life, and because his weakened remnant soul needs a host, Ling Jue makes a pact with him: he will guide Lin Chen in cultivation and alchemy to help him grow stronger quickly, while Lin Chen must seek rare heavenly treasures to help him rebuild his sword-soul body.
