I Transmigrated into a Pregnant Noble Consort, but I Don't Want to Give Birth to the Crown Prince

On my first day after transmigrating, I was five months pregnant. The whole imperial harem was waiting for me to give birth to the crown prince, then be executed. My name is Feng Shuyi. I was a history student who barely passed, and a complete novice at political intrigue. I transmigrated into the Northern Wei noble consort Feng, and the original owner’s declaration, “I’ll bear the emperor a son,” landed me in a deadly trap. Emperor Tuoba Jun taught me political strategy. He was my first teacher. Tuoba Cheng, a transmigrated prince, exchanged heartfelt letters with me. He was the only one who truly understood my soul. The bodyguard Yuchi Lie protected me with his life and guarded me in silence for all his days. Wang Yan, an envoy from the Southern Dynasties, crossed the divide between north and south to become my spiritual mirror. My adopted son, Yuan Xie, was raised by my own hand and became my only support in old age. These five accompanied me through the terror of “a son’s elevation means his mother’s death,” the dangers of powerful ministers seizing the throne, and the bloodshed of Sinicization reforms. I bore the infamy of a “demon empress,” outlived my husband, forced my son to step down, and was misunderstood by all under heaven. But they believed in me. Tuoba Cheng died fighting for me. Yuchi Lie gave his life in my service. Wang Yan died unjustly for my sake. Yuan Xie carried on my legacy, never married, and was buried beside my tomb. It took me thirty-six years to go from a cast-off wife doomed by the saying “a son’s elevation means his mother’s death” to an empress remembered for all time.
