I wake up in 1888 in Honolulu’s Chinatown, inhabiting the body of a Cantonese indentured laborer on a sugar plantation. The moment I open my eyes, I’m caught in a fight for my life, face-to-face with the desperate plight of overseas Chinese suffering abuse, while my homeland teeters in the storm behind me.
I can’t change the course of my homeland’s history, nor do I intend to meddle in its internal conflicts. I have only one goal: to build a safe home overseas where millions of wandering Chinese can settle without fear of abuse.
In this desperate situation, I activate the Global Resource Forecasting System and set out on a path to empower Chinese people abroad. With the System’s forward-looking guidance, I lead my compatriots to Alaska to prospect for gold and build up capital for development; break into Wall Street and make precise investments, establishing an independent financial system for Chinese people; and secure the world’s key oil fields, gaining a voice in energy independence.
As anti-Chinese sentiment surges, I stay true to my mission of protecting overseas Chinese. I safeguard their ocean shipping routes, build a global mutual-aid network, and do everything I can to protect their lives and property abroad.
I have always believed that wherever the sun and moon shine and rivers flow, Chinese people deserve an equal place to stand. I will hold up a clear sky that can never be brought down for millions of my compatriots overseas.
When will we acquire the mineral resources of Australia and the energy resources of the Persian Gulf?
