I Am a Feng Shui Master of the Dead
I’m Lin Yan, a feng shui master specializing in burial sites. I deal with all kinds of creepy, unexplainable cases.
One day, I received a call for help: in a remote mountain village, three people had died overnight in a century-old haunted house. Their eyes were bulging and blood was streaming from every orifice. It looked as though they’d been scared to death.
When I reached the village entrance, my compass cracked on the spot.
The black jade ring on my thumb let out a piercing hum, a sign of terrible misfortune.
The walls of every house in the village were crawling with tiny handprints. They covered the walls from floor to ceiling, packed so tightly together there was no space between them. From beneath the ground came the cries of hundreds of babies, one after another: Help us.
On the haunted house’s front door, a character had “grown” in dripping blood: Get out.
I didn’t leave.
I kicked the door open.
The coffin stood upright. Pasted across its lid was the nine-layer evil-suppressing talisman of my Lin family. Each talisman cost ten years of one’s life to make.
Something inside the coffin was knocking on the lid.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The moment the coffin exploded, I saw a corpse dressed in Qing dynasty official robes. A copper nail was driven into its brow, and a coin inscribed with “May you never be reborn” was lodged in its mouth. It had been standing inside that coffin for a hundred years.
It opened its eyes and smiled.
With that single smile, the whole village collapsed.
One hundred and eight baby ghosts crawled out from underground and circled the corpse. It spread its arms and howled at the sky:
“Descendant of the Lin family, I’ve waited a hundred years for you.”
Then I heard a heartbeat from deep beneath the earth.
Thud... Thud... Thud...
The Qingwu Yin Scripture says: When the Heavenly Fiend emerges, the world will fall into chaos.
And that thing will emerge in just fifteen days.
My name is Lin Yan. I’m the twenty-fourth-generation feng shui master of the dead in my family.
If I can’t find a way to seal the Heavenly Fiend within fifteen days,
everyone will die.
