The play tells the story of Song Zhuowen, a Communist intelligence officer who sneaked into the Secret Service Section of the Harbin Puppet Manchukuo Police Department and was mistaken by the chief of the Secret Service Section, Guan Xue, as his savior. Guan Xue was cold-blooded and suspicious. Song Zhuowen went through all kinds of hardships to gain the trust of Guan Xue and senior Japanese officials, and to clear the way for the final victory of the war.
