Three years ago, my father led an expedition into the Kunlun Mountains’ Valley of Death. The entire team vanished. The search party couldn’t find a single body. All they found was a charred, encrypted photograph with eight words written on the back: “Guixu is no illusion. Kunlun has eyes.”
Three years later, I got a phone call: “I know how your father died.”
My name is Fu Shen. I’m a discharged special forces soldier, and for three years I’ve been scrambling around the northern foothills of the Kunlun Mountains, searching for an answer. Now, a six-person research team is about to enter the Valley of Death. The leader is suspicious, every team member has their own agenda, and behind the sponsor stands a mysterious organization called “Guixu.”
I decided to infiltrate the team as their guide.
From that moment on, I traveled with them. But in this forbidden zone, where even compasses fail, no one knows who’s an ally, who’s a mole, or who wants me to make it out alive.
Six people go in. The one who makes it out alive may not be me.
