An Imperial Marriage to Bring You Good Fortune? You and the Disabled Prince Slaughter the Capital

[The heroine is no saint; the male lead pretends to be blind or disabled, or hides his dark side beneath a gentle facade; both are strong and faithful; forbidden tension between an uncle and his nephew’s wife; court intrigue + feel-good story; everyone is a schemer!]

On her wedding day, the dragon-and-phoenix candles wept blood.

Through an embroidered screen depicting a hundred children and a thousand grandchildren, Shen Zhiwei, the prime minister’s legitimate daughter, heard her childhood sweetheart and betrothed, Crown Prince Xiao Ziye, pinning her delicate, pitiful half-sister to the bed.

“Zhiwei is dull and boring. How could she compare to your charms? Once I ascend the throne, I’ll divorce her and make you my empress.”

Hearing the revolting gasps from within, Shen Zhiwei let out a cold laugh. In front of all the guests, she ripped the nine-pheasant pearl coronet from her head and smashed it to pieces!

“I refuse to marry such a filthy man who sneaks around with his own half-sister!”

Breaking the imperial decree and calling off the wedding enraged the emperor.

Crown Prince Xiao Ziye looked at her coldly, his eyes full of venomous spite. “Shen Zhiwei, since you think so highly of yourself that even I’m beneath you, Father has issued an order to grant you to my royal uncle, who’s waiting to die in Prince You’s manor, as an auspicious bride! Let’s see how dignified you can act with a cripple!”

A shabby sedan chair carried Shen Zhiwei through the back gate of the Crown Prince’s residence and into Prince You’s manor, a place like a ghostly prison.

Prince You, Xiao Jingchuan, had once been a brilliant legitimate prince and an invincible god of war. But the current emperor had secretly plotted against him, poisoning him until he went blind and lost the use of his legs. He had become a brutal, bloodthirsty madman.

“Your Highness has been poisoned with the rare Nine Nether poison. As luck would have it, my maternal family are reclusive ghost doctors.”

“Xiao Jingchuan, the imperial family owes you a realm of magnificent rivers and mountains, and the Crown Prince owes me my good name. You lend me your blade to exact revenge, and I’ll heal your broken body so you can reclaim the throne. Do we have a deal?”
