HR, Your Résumé Is Haunted

After the first urban chess demon was destroyed, the obsessions in the hearts of the city's people scattered in every direction.

Taking advantage of the chaos, the occult crime syndicate Dust-Hiding Pavilion, which had been lurking in Jiangcheng for years, began putting its plans into action. Exploiting workplace rat races, common people's desires, youthful loneliness, and influencer vanity, it cultivated artificial chess shadows in different districts, greedily harvesting ordinary people's emotions and luck while throwing the whole city into disorder.

Su Yao was specially appointed by the authorities as a specialist in folk customs and special affairs, openly entering the world to join forces with a Pure Yang guardian, an official special-case team leader, an elder versed in the old city's traditions, and an ancient Ruins Venerable.

Together, they swept through black-market antique dealings, office-tower ghost stories, night-market chaos, and sinister schemes on campus, exposed man-made rules-based horrors, and suppressed newly risen regional chess spirits.

When the entire Dust-Hiding Pavilion clan launched a counterattack, ready to destroy the city to turn the tide, she used chess to steady hearts and the Dao to bring peace to the city. She severed the evil plots of the mortal world and purged the city's hidden currents, protecting the ordinary lives of millions beneath its bustling lights.
