This Taoist Doesn’t Draw Talismans, He Swings Bricks

Lin Que was born with a fate that left him perpetually broke. Driven to desperation by poverty, he went up the mountain to study the Dao, hoping to change his fate and get rich.

But he couldn't perform a single Daoist art. Talismans, incantations, formations, spiritual power: he was useless at all of them. Instead of changing his fate, he only got poorer.

Fortunately, he was physically tough and unbelievably strong. While others fought with magic, he dealt with demons using physical attacks: bricks, ropes, fists, and sacks. He was the perfect cure for flashy tricks.

To break free of his poor fate, he tucked a brick under his arm and went down the mountain to make money, face-slapping fake Daoists, physically exorcising ghosts, and beating evil cultivators and occultists to a pulp. The orthodox practitioners thought he was crude, and the demons were beaten into despair. Yet with his brawler's approach, he charged through the world of the occult and made a name for himself.

He was driven to tears by a fate that kept him broke, yet earned merit by violently slaying demons. In the end, he used his fists to smash his way free of the heaven-defying fate of poverty.

Others cultivate immortality and seek the Dao; he proves his Dao with bricks.

Others subdue demons with magic; he changes his fate with his fists.

Watch a penniless, wisecracking Daoist carve out the most satisfying and wildest path to defying fate: no talismans, no incantations, just good old physical force!
