A Cruel Heart, a Taste for Tenderness

As one of Jing University’s most promising new ballet dancers, Su Su couldn't stand to see the weak being bullied.

One day, in an alley by the old music building, she rescued a breathtakingly beautiful "poor little thing."

His white shirt was spotless, and his gold-rimmed glasses half hid his face. He was cold and proud in the face of bullies, but the moment she shielded him, his eyes reddened and he gave a soft, low cough. "Junior, don't get involved. Don't let me drag you into this."

Su Su's sense of justice flared. From then on, she brought him breakfast, tore into scumbags, and resolved to become the guardian angel of this "malnourished" upperclassman.

But she had no idea.

The "poor little thing" she was so determined to protect was actually the all-powerful crown prince of the capital's elite circles, ruthless and unruly, regarding everyone else as an insect.

He hadn't just gotten a certain judge stripped of his public post. He was also plotting how to keep this little ray of sunshine locked in his private apartment for the rest of her life.

Then, by chance, Su Su saw him take off his glasses and grab a rival by the throat, his eyes full of menace as he said cruelly, "You dare touch her? Death wouldn't be enough to repay you."

Terrified, Su Su turned and ran with her ballet shoes in hand, only to be locked up by that "lunatic" in the old music building late that night.

Shen Wuwang trapped her against his chest, his fingers rubbing her ankle, his voice hoarse and trembling slightly.

"Su Su, you promised... you'd protect me for the rest of my life."

[He was born wicked to the core, yet willingly knelt before her beneath the moonlight.]
