The Book of Heavenly Fate

My name is Song Ming, the least remarkable illegitimate son of the Song family in Linjiang City. At fifteen, they discovered that my meridians were naturally crippled, and a red cross was marked beside my name in the family register. For eighteen years, I lived worse than a servant. On my eighteenth birthday, no one remembered it, but a jade slip I found told me: My meridians aren't crippled. Someone planted a spirit-locking seal in my body, stealing my vital spiritual energy to nourish the person who cast it. When midnight comes, my life will be over. I refuse to accept my fate. From chopping wood in the Song family courtyard, I went on to crush my legitimate elder brother's wrist on the Heaven-Climbing Steps of the Beicang Sect; from fighting the three clan heads alone in the Blackwind Forbidden Zone to taking three strikes from the Black Flood Dragon at the Causality Platform, I shattered the fate written for me, step by step. The nine surviving pages of the Book of Heaven's Mandate were scattered across the world, torn apart by the Heaven's Mandate Emperor himself a hundred thousand years ago. I gathered eight pages and burned the ninth. Not because the ninth page wasn't powerful enough, but because the Heaven's Mandate Emperor had sealed it away, waiting not for someone to claim it, but for someone to make the same choice he had: to decide no one else's fate for them. This is a road that begins with “survive” and ends with “let go.”
