The Day the Prince Took a Concubine, His Princess Divorced Him and Became Empress

On the day the prince took a concubine, the princess consort divorced him with a letter of repudiation, then became empress. Before long, she gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, and the prince panicked completely.

The Lin family residence was a scholarly household. Chancellor Lin Wenyuan was a renowned upright leader at court, incorruptible throughout his life, with former students and old friends all over the realm.

Lin Wanqing was his only daughter. Clever and graceful from childhood, she excelled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, and was also breathtakingly beautiful.

After coming of age, she was pursued by so many suitors that they nearly wore down the threshold, yet her heart belonged only to Prince Jing, Chu Chen.

Unfortunately, the prince had someone else he treasured, and he looked down on the eldest daughter of the Lin family and her admiration for him.

Still, for reasons of his own, he married her. Naively, she believed the prince cared for her and that they could spend their lives together, devoted only to each other and the envy of all.

Back then, she had no idea what path in life this marriage, which she had stubbornly pursued, would set her on. Nor did she know that far away in the north, an aging emperor had sent his trusted men to search everywhere for his only daughter, who had been lost among the common people for twenty years.

The wheels of fate had already begun to turn.
