The Policeman and the Rose

Criminal investigation captain Lu Zheng and English teacher Lin Chuxia unexpectedly meet and fall for each other. Just as they’re preparing to walk down the aisle, an accident changes everything. The revelation of Lu Zheng’s true background brings new dangers... and forces him to shoulder an even heavier responsibility!

Danger is closing in. Can Lu Zheng complete his mission safely while undercover in a drug-trafficking organization? What deadly dangers will he face? Will he live to see their wedding day? No one knows...

The early part is sweet romance. The middle brings tears, deadly danger, and a life-or-death struggle.

When Lin Chuxia, the English teacher of Class 2, Grade 12, runs into a suspected armed robber at school and is threatened, a faster shadow leaps in from the side. The newcomer clamps the knife-wielder’s wrist with precision, twists and presses down, and the dagger clatters to the ground. A swift shoulder throw follows, and the attacker is pinned to the floor. The whole thing takes no more than three seconds.

Lin Chuxia stares blankly at the scene before her.

“Police. Don’t move.” The man’s voice is low and firm, strikingly clear in the fading light.

Years later...

“Lu Zheng, do you remember? The first time we met was at school, when you helped me catch a bad guy. The second time, you brought me ointment. The third time, you rescued one of my students... There are still so many things we haven’t done. You said you’d take me traveling, help me decorate our house, and have a child with me... Lu Zheng, you can’t break your promises. You can’t...”

Lu Zheng’s eyes were half open as he looked at her. His lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but no sound came out. All he could do was squeeze her hand. It was very faint, but Lin Chuxia felt it.
