A Soldier on the Eastern Front

Transmigration is a very useful word, but not everyone understands how to land safely on their feet. Some people get to start over in wonderful alternate worlds. But the moment our protagonist, Shen Lian, or rather Alexei Petrov, opens his eyes, he discovers that he is deep in the hell of the Eastern Front during World War II, a Soviet soldier in the Battle of Moscow. All he has is a broken System that tossed him into this hell as a beginner’s mission. It grants him only the basic abilities of a soldier, and nothing else. Worse, he has to hold on from Moscow in 1941 all the way to Berlin in 1945 before this miserable beginner’s mission is complete. He looks down at the unfamiliar rifle in his hands, the rough field uniform he wears, and the apocalyptic scene all around him. He knows he has not only transmigrated through time, but also landed on the front line of the largest and most brutal meat grinder in human history: the Soviet-German War. His first instinct is simple: survive. But war is a slow process of stripping away and eroding everything you are. He soon learns that in the meat grinder, the simplest wish of all, to survive, is itself the most expensive luxury, paid for with fragments of his soul. He must become just as ruthless. To keep breathing for one more second, he has to snuff out the faint glimmers of his humanity, one by one. From a terrified bystander, he becomes a seasoned participant, and ultimately a silent, efficient cog in this brutal war machine. Even as death approaches, the journey through hell goes on.
