When the black sun fell, the whole world was dragged into an endless network of apocalyptic roads.
Everyone has to follow their navigation systems. If they stop for more than ninety minutes, they and their vehicles will be “pressed” into the road, becoming part of it.
But Cheng Ye, a former highway emergency dispatcher, soon realizes that the routes on the navigation system aren’t paths to survival. They’re dead ends meant to weed people out.
While others see the main road, he spots hidden ramps. While others hack each other to pieces at rest stops over half a box of instant noodles, he’s already seized an underground fuel depot. While others fight desperately over a single route, he turns a toll station into a supply depot, welds an armored minibus into a mobile fortress, and rallies scattered survivors into a convoy to protect the roads.
He keeps rerouting, seizing roads, repairing them, and building cities, all in the hope of catching up with a long-distance bus that vanished on the night of the black sun: K417.
Because the last voice message his younger sister sent him contained just one sentence:
“Bro, the navigation says... there’s no road ahead.”
It's so messy. Who can see it?
