Back to 1997: My Prophecies Can Save the World

The night before the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel opened, June 30, 1997. When Lin Zhou emerged from the tunnel, he was holding a copy of the Xinmin Evening News from fifty years in the future. The date on the front page read July 1, 2047. Its shocking headline announced: “Tomorrow, Shanghai business titan Shen Heting will die in a car crash at the age of 78.” Shen Heting, the benefactor who had taken him in and taught him how to be a decent person at the lowest point in his life, would die in an “accident” within twenty-four hours. Even more chilling, a small line in the corner of the paper read: “On the same day, a high-rise under construction in Pudong New Area will collapse, killing 37 workers.” Lin Zhou had a chance to change all this. But when he rushed into Shen Heting's office to try to stop the crash, his benefactor looked at him with wary confusion. “Lin Zhou, who are you, really? How can you know what will happen tomorrow?” At the same time, a mysterious call from the future came through on his landline. “Don't reveal what you know about the future. Otherwise, the people around you will die even sooner.” But Lin Zhou soon discovered that knowing the future didn't mean he could change it. Every time he intervened, it triggered an even more terrifying chain reaction. And the person hiding in the shadows, who also knew the future, was closing in on his benefactor, the woman he loved, and everything he wanted to protect. “If you could return to the past, would you save one person or an entire city?” Fate told him that the most costly thing in this world wasn't the price of defying destiny. It was knowing how things would end, yet watching helplessly as they came to pass.
