A Twist of Fate, Our First Meeting at Wangchuan

He stumbles into the Underworld, falls in love with a female ghost, and endures nine strikes of heavenly lightning to become the most upright official between the realms of the living and the dead.

She says, “I am but a skeleton beneath the earth.” He replies, “What can the divide between yin and yang matter when our love runs so deep?”

For readers who enjoy the style of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, classical romance, episodic case-solving xianxia, and the twist on the “scholar and female ghost” pairing.
