[Original work] + [What-if premise]
Niu Yinlian: Brother, help me!
Niu Shengying: Hmph! You dared kidnap my sister? Do you have a death wish?
I felt so sorry for Yinglian when I read Dream of the Red Chamber.
And I absolutely love the mischievous old Niu family in Journey to the West.
What if Journey to the West and Dream of the Red Chamber took place in the same Heaven of Parting Hatred?
Let the Great Sage send Yinglian down to the mortal world,
where the fiercely protective Niu family dotes on her,
so she can live happily ever after.
In this story, Yinglian is the fairy Yinglian from the Land of Illusion.
While in Heaven, she volunteers to go to the Tusita Palace and fetch a golden elixir for Fairy Jinghuan. Just then, the Great Sage leaps out of the Eight Trigrams Furnace, and he sends her down to the mortal world along with the furnace’s flames.
The flames spread across eight hundred miles, forming the Flaming Mountain, while she is reborn as the daughter of Princess Iron Fan and the younger sister of the Great King Holy Infant. When she is born, birds sing in unison across Green Cloud Mountain and golden lotuses bloom everywhere, so the Niu couple name her Niu Yinlian.
Female lead: Niu Yinlian (Zhen Yinglian). Supporting characters: Niu Shengying, Princess Iron Fan, Niu Mowang, Ao Yulong, Sun Wukong...
