After the Calamity Star Speaks, the Whole Court Begs for Mercy

Goofy humor, anti-clichés, a System golden finger, everyone’s favorite, a father and daughter constantly pranking each other, and satisfying wish fulfillment. The upright censor Lin Qingfeng is as incorruptible as pure water, yet his daughter Lin Miaomiao was branded a “bringer of disaster” by a fortune-teller. After transmigrating, Lin Miaomiao opens her eyes to find herself beside the altar where the royal family is offering sacrifices to Heaven!

At the last moment, she binds to the [Heavenly Dao Jinxing System]. If she doesn’t blurt out an unlucky but honest truth every day, she’ll drop dead on the spot!

To stay alive, Lin Miaomiao points at the imperial throne and shouts, “Your Majesty, don’t sit down! This chair is rotten. You’ll fall if you sit on it!”

Lin Qingfeng is terrified, expecting his entire clan to be wiped out. But then, with a crash, the throne really collapses, and a list of enemy spies in hiding falls out of its base!

The emperor is overjoyed. “A divine maiden sent from Heaven! Promote Lin Qingfeng three ranks and grant him a death-exemption token!”

From then on, the capital’s whole vibe goes off the rails:

Lin Miaomiao casually remarks, “The Dali Temple prison isn’t sturdy. The prisoners might escape.”

The Minister of Dali Temple spends the night lying in wait with his troops. They not only catch an assassin, but also seize the treasury of the previous dynasty’s surviving loyalists!

Lin Miaomiao takes one look at the Northern Barbarians’ prince sent for a political marriage. “His brow looks dark to me. He won’t live past midnight.”

The prince falls into the city moat while heading out. After they fish him out, he immediately signs a hundred-year nonaggression pact!

The assembled officials are on the verge of collapse. “Please, just cover your beloved daughter’s mouth! She’s going to curse every corrupt official in Great Zhou into extinction!”

And Lin Qingfeng, a civil official who has never even killed a chicken, looks at the courtyard full of imperial pledges of immunity and military tallies commanding a hundred thousand troops, and wails, “Daughter, stop talking! You’ve already made your father a prince of a different surname charged with protecting the nation. If I get promoted again, the emperor will put his dragon robe on me tomorrow!”
