The Outcast: My Undercover System Is an Absurdist

Zhang Muqian transmigrates into the world of The Outcast, becoming the tenth personal disciple of the Old Celestial Master, Zhang Zhiwei, and Zhang Lingyu’s senior brother. He had planned to cling to Mount Longhu’s powerful backing and live a quiet life, but then an absurd [All-Sex Golden Spy System] suddenly binds itself to him. The System stubbornly insists Zhang Muqian is a mole planted by the All-Sex Sect at Mount Longhu, and issues a series of ridiculous “undercover missions.”

Mission One: Steal the Golden Light Mantra. Zhang Muqian looks at the palm thunder he has practiced for twenty years and falls into deep thought. Mission Two: Destroy the younger generation of Mount Longhu’s Daoist resolve. Facing his junior brother Zhang Lingyu, who practices the Yin Five Thunders after losing his virginity, he asks a question that cuts to the soul: “Lingyu, why don’t you learn the Yang Five Thunders? Don’t you like them?” As he watches his junior brother’s faith in the Dao waver, the mission-complete chime leaves Zhang Muqian laughing and crying at once.

Greater conflicts soon follow. Mission Three: Take the Eight Extraordinary Skills’ Heaven Communicating Talisman Art. At the Luotian Grand Ceremony, he is “forced” to defeat one opponent after another, and in the end can only “reluctantly” accept Elder Lu Jin’s gift. Mission Four: Wreak havoc at Mount Longhu and deal with the Daoist priest guarding Tian Jinzong. When Gong Qing (Little Yunzi), acting head of the All-Sex Sect, appears outside Elder Tian’s residence, Zhang Muqian spins around and slaps him flying, shouting, “Little Yunzi, are you trying to obstruct the grand plan of the All-Sex Sect?” The real All-Sex Sect villains and the Mount Longhu Daoists present are all left dumbfounded.

Zhang Muqian keeps getting deeper into this absurd cycle of “sabotaging myself (and my own spy organization)” and “backstabbing my teammates (my All-Sex Sect comrades).” He efficiently completes the System’s infuriating missions while, in practice, crushing the All-Sex Sect’s schemes and protecting Mount Longhu.
