I move into an old apartment building and discover that there’s something wrong with all the neighbors. The woman in 404 turns into a cat every night. The auntie in 502 grows talking flowers on her balcony. The kid in 301 always bounces a ball down the hallway at three in the morning. Even more absurdly, the building management has posted a set of “Resident Rules” in the elevator: “Don’t look the person in 602 in the eye. His gaze can make you forget who you are.” “Never knock on 101’s door. The calamity from the previous era lives inside.” “If you’re human, move out as soon as possible.
