The Ghost Model

I stole your life, but inside your body, I became myself.

The worst mistake Luo Peiyu ever made was crossing the street without checking the light at two in the morning in Hong Kong.

A taxi took her life.

But she didn't disappear. She woke up in a stranger's body: Li Lisa, a young model who had just died in a car accident. Twenty-two years old, 172 centimeters tall, with peach-blossom eyes and a perfect smile. Every inch of her was as flawless as if sculpted by God himself.

Luo Peiyu swore she wouldn't waste a second chance.

She walked runways, shot ads, appeared in magazines, and attended lavish banquets. Using Li Lisa's face and body, she climbed step by step to heights Luo Peiyu had never dared to dream of. She thought she'd won: won against fate, against her humble beginnings, against the self who had once been so lowly she seemed ground into the dirt.

But Li Lisa's mother still works at a Hong Kong-style cafe, sending her daughter a message every day and never getting a reply. Li Lisa's soul is trapped deep inside her own body, knocking on the door in her dreams every night and saying, "Give me back what's mine." And an old woman who has waited in Southeast Asia for twenty years is using black magic to reclaim control of this body, inch by inch.

At last, Luo Peiyu understands: a life stolen must eventually be returned.

But she doesn't want to give it back.

Because inside someone else's body, for the first time, she feels alive.
