Reborn: Becoming a Top Student Starting in Ninth Grade

Thirty-year-old office worker Lin Bei dies suddenly in his rented apartment and wakes up as a struggling student in his final year of middle school.

He scores 38 in math and 42 in English. His homeroom teacher advises him to “start thinking about which factory you’ll work at.”

The chubby Chen Fei goes from mocking him to shamelessly begging for help. “Bei, save my English!”

Jiang Xiaoyue, a poor student, nearly drops out to get a job. Lin Bei hands her his scholarship money. “Finish your last year of middle school. I’ll treat you.”

That year, he rises from the bottom of his class to the top two hundred citywide, transforming from a nobody into a dark horse at City No. 1 High School.
