The Jin Guan Ledger

Shen Mingjun died suddenly after a late night of overtime. When she woke up, she had become the daughter of a merchant in ancient times, a woman whose engagement had been broken off and whose family's shop was on the verge of closing. The manager was embezzling, the staff were causing trouble, and the accounts were a complete mess. Expressionless, she moved the abacus beads. “These accounts don't even balance on a double-entry basis.” Three sentences were all it took to expose the traitor, and one internal control system brought the shop back to life. She thought she could live in peace as long as she built up the business, until a man calling himself “Young Master Xiao” handed her a set of government accounts. “Miss Shen, help me look into this account.” She opened the ledger and found the truth behind her father's death, along with a staggering shortfall of 470,000 shi. The abacus in her hands would be the key to uncovering it all. This is a story about using numbers to fight one's way back in ancient times.
