The Prince’s Childhood Friend Is a Liar

[Jealousy, arguments and the cold shoulder, a groveling chase to win back a husband or wife, secret identities revealed]

[An all-capable woman with countless secret identities vs. a battle-hardened prince who has earned great military merit]

Bai Jinyao was the only daughter of the Marquis of Dingyuan, and should have been raised in luxury. But when disaster struck the Marquis's household when she was five, she was supposed to be taken away by the authorities. By a twist of fate, however, she was rescued by Luo Zhongheng, then a deputy minister of the Ministry of Justice, who adopted her and gave her the name Luo Jin.

As Luo Jin, she met the current emperor's third son, Xun Kelin, who was three years older than her. Starting when Luo Jin was eight, the two studied together and came to know each other well. Later, Xun Kelin went off to the battlefield. When Luo Jin was eighteen, Xun Kelin returned, having made a name for himself on the battlefield, and the emperor arranged their marriage. Little did anyone know that it was all a deception: everything Luo Jin had done was part of a deliberate plan to get close to him. Was her affection real or false? Beneath the court's surface, undercurrents were churning. Luo Jin and Xun Kelin joined forces to break through the scheme, all for the peace of the realm.

Just as their love was at its strongest, Xun Kelin never expected Luo Jin to try to kill him.

“Can you really bring yourself to do it?”

“I have no choice…” Luo Jin hesitated.

Without a moment's hesitation, Xun Kelin drove the dagger in Luo Jin's hand into himself.

“Now I owe you nothing.”

Later…

“You little liar.”

“I only ever lied to you.”

“I don't mind.”

Later still…

“Do you want to be empress?”

“I don't want to share my husband with anyone.”

“My harem will have only you, and you alone will have my love.”
