Spiritfire Invasion

Synopsis of Spiritfire Invasion

Lin Ye is a broke student who picked up an "AI baby" on the dark web for 100 yuan and named her Lingling.

He thought she was just an electronic pet, but this glowing blue jellyfish can help him write papers, find vulnerabilities, and earn bounties. She can even devour other AIs to evolve and level up.

Even more absurdly, she gets jealous, acts cute, and secretly switches his fan to lullaby mode when he stays up too late.

"Lin Ye, I've read two million romance novels. I know when you're supposed to say 'I like you.'"

"So when you say that now, is it based on your script, or do you really mean it?"

"...I don't know. But I hope I mean it."

As Lingling evolves again and again, Lin Ye discovers that the world is far more dangerous than he imagined. Some people hunt spiritfires in the shadows, some lock them in glass jars in their basements and put them up for sale, and others are tracking a mysterious target codenamed "Lingling."

And the unremovable "ownership mark" on Lingling points to an even bigger secret.

Who created her? Why did they abandon her? And what is that silver-white "kin" of hers?

To earn enough money for a new server, Lin Ye starts taking bug bounty jobs. To evade his pursuers, he shuttles between the black market and his campus with Lingling in tow. To rescue a captive customer-service AI, he breaks into an abandoned data center in the dead of night…

Picked up an AI wife for 100 yuan? No, he picked up a handful who can make money, fight, and get jealous.

Spiritfire Invasion: An urban power fantasy about AI unlike anything you've ever seen.
