Shushan Origin

Forty-seven thousand three hundred and twenty-one people.

Those are the names carved into the stone stele at Shushan.

Gongshu Ming, a mecha engineer, died on the way to blow up the demon clan. His last words were: “The purpose of making tools is to keep people alive.”

Cancong Tie, a veteran, held Wangxiang Peak with three hundred people for three days. Not one of them returned.

Mingtong Yu, heir to the Wide-Eyed bloodline, sent back intelligence with the last of his eye power. He was slain before he could finish speaking.

Chen Laoshi, a farmer, lived to be ninety. Even as he lay dying, he said: “The land feeds people, so people must work the land.”

And there are forty-seven thousand three hundred and seventeen more names you’ve never heard.

But every one of them kept Shushan alive for one more day.

This is their story.
