Cyber Fortune-Telling: I Fix Bugs with Coins

In this cyberpunk wasteland, where cybernetic implants are everywhere and code can kill, Chen Dao is an oddity.

While others fix bugs by typing on a keyboard, he fixes them by tossing coins.

While others tell fortunes with star charts, he reads magnetic glitches in the earth.

When the physical laws of the entire city begin to collapse, skyscrapers twist like soft clay, and an invisible field of “baleful energy” drives citizens to leap from rooftops en masse, the “architects” with halos over their heads declare in their suits and ties: This is a version update for reality. A few deaths are just “redundant data cleanup.”

Chen Dao doesn’t buy it.

He spits out his cigarette butt and rubs three old copper coins between his oil-stained thumbs.

The moment the divination pattern appears, it points to an underground river three hundred meters beneath his feet.

“What version update? You bastards wired the city’s earth veins to the wrong positive and negative poles!”

A compass in his left hand pins down the magnetic field; copper coins in his right overwrite the code.

He’s a pureblood human with no cybernetic enhancements, yet he can break down the most arcane feng shui formations into the hardest kind of physical force.

Reconstructor: “We control the laws and rules of this city!”

Chen Dao smashes his opponent’s head with a copper coin. “I’m here to slap a permanent patch on your busted code!”
