Identity V: The Blooming Season

Key point: a modern-setting Joseph and Aesop fanfic Joseph Desaulniers, 27, is the president of the Desaulniers Group. Elegant, refined, and gentlemanly, he has every quality a nobleman should possess. He has also been married for three years. After a car accident, he woke up. His memories were stuck at age 18, when he had just taken over the company. To him, “love at first sight” was something made up to fool people in novels. “I’m married? Seriously? That’s not a funny joke.” Then a man named Aesop walked through the door. With silver-gray hair and pale eyes, he stood there against the light in the hallway. Joseph turned to Claude and lowered his voice. “Claude, do you believe in love at first sight?” Claude remained expressionless. “You asked me the same thing when you were 22.” Joseph was plunged into a long inner struggle: on one side, “He’s my wife, so what’s wrong with hugging and kissing him?”; on the other, “We just met, this is way too forward.” Every day, he swung back and forth between disbelief and being completely won over. Meanwhile, Aesop watched him quietly for three months, then handed him a divorce agreement. Joseph looked at the neat signature, “Aesop Carl,” on the signature line, and every last bit of his inner turmoil crumbled to dust. Forget being 18, 22, or 27. Forget being refined, keeping his distance, or coming on too strong. Right now, he knew only one thing! I’m about to lose my wife!!!!
