Haunted House Sleep Tester: Thirteen Rules You Must Never Break

When Lin Mo was seven, he survived a strange car accident. His parents made it through too, but he remained unconscious for three days. After waking, he began to occasionally see “afterimages”: a figure would suddenly flash into view somewhere, repeating a brief sequence of movements. His family thought it was a lingering effect of brain damage and took him to doctor after doctor, but none could help. As he grew older, he realized these “shadows” only appeared in places where someone had died an unnatural death, and their movements showed the victim's final few seconds. To test the phenomenon and get away from it, he enrolled in a psychology program, hoping to explain it scientifically, but the apparitions only grew more frequent. In his sophomore year, he started delivering food part-time, inadvertently encountering more corners of the city and being drawn into several unsolved cases.
