Chen Luo, a cave explorer struggling to pay his mortgage, accepts a 200,000-yuan contract to descend to the bottom of the Dashiwei sinkhole and find a “crystal flower.”
He thinks it's just an ordinary exploration mission.
That is, until he encounters moving vines, a glowing forest, descendants of the Nine-Tailed Fox, and a mixed-race woman who tells him that every monster in the Classic of Mountains and Seas is real, and they all live beneath the Earth's crust.
Even stranger, the sky ladder at the bottom of the sinkhole, said to be a passage for “ascending to immortality,” is now being targeted by a mysterious organization on the surface.
If they aren't stopped, the Earth's core will collapse, the surface will be destroyed, and both worlds will perish.
Chen Luo just wants to pay off his mortgage. Now he has to save two worlds first.
