Synopsis

In his previous life, Li Mu was shoved into a swarm of fungal zombies. Just before he died, all he saw was a locomotive badge. Reborn before the apocalypse began, he binds himself to the Industrial Revolution System. While others shiver in the cold wave, he drives a steam train through the zombie tide and out of the city. A steel mill, an armory, a laboratory... each carriage is an industrial base. While others struggle to survive in the wasteland, he rebuilds civilization aboard his train. Everyone wants to board, until he summons an army. Looking at the steel strongholds of the ambitious in the distance, Li Mu blows the train whistle: “Move. You're blocking my tracks.”

This novel has me hooked! The protagonist Li Mu is reborn in the doomsday, and the bound "Industrial Revolution System" does not use any bells and whistles, but directly uses historical relics to summon the real industrial ghost - a running steam train! While others froze to death in the cold wave, he drove the "Doomsday Ark" to drive away the tide of corpses, and the carriages turned into farms, arsenals, and mobile fortresses. This kind of industrial farming gave a unique feeling. But what struck me the most was not the leveling up of monsters, but the grayscale of human nature. Li Mu is cold and decisive, but will deliver a letter for a stranger's last wish across hundreds of miles; the zombie "Old Zhang" retains consciousness and becomes the most unexpected ally; the heroine Su Qing does not hold back, from being protected to carrying the scalpel. The scariest thing about the apocalypse is not the corpses, but the human heart; but the warmest thing is also the human heart. Highly recommended to readers who like apocalypse, trains, and hardcore infrastructure!

This is not only survival in the apocalypse, but also a hard-core epic about hope and reconstruction. Li Mu is not the traditional Long Aotian - he is calm and cautious. He uses an industrial system to wake up the steam train and turns each carriage into a mobile industrial fortress. This setting is so flammable! From the cold wave coming to break away the zombie tide, to the bloody battle in the tunnel, the game of Fort Hope, and the brood showdown, the rhythm is so tight that it is suffocating. What moved me most were the human details: the letter that spanned thirty years, Lao Zhang who retained his consciousness, Su Qing who was protected and then side by side... The most terrifying thing about the apocalypse is not the zombies, but the human heart; and the most precious thing is the red rope that Li Mu always holds in his hand. Highly recommended!
