Night Talks Beneath the Old Locust Tree: A Lantern of Passing Scenes

In an ancient village called Laohuai Village on the banks of the Yellow River in Jinzhong, "the revolving lantern shows no human shadows, only scenes from the past." According to local legend, every Year of the Horse, during the first lunar month, when the ancestral revolving lantern is hung beneath the century-old locust tree at the village entrance, its light does not show the shadows of the people gathered around it. Instead, it reveals scenes from bygone days that no one has ever seen before, scenes often tied to the family secrets of those involved.
